How we measure
Every minute · YouTube, Twitch and Kick
This is how we get every number on Prim, so you can quote it with confidence.
What we look at
We look at channels streaming live on YouTube, Twitch and Kick. For each stream we note how many people are watching at that moment: the same number the platform shows next to the video.
How often
While a channel is live, we ask the platform every minute how many people are watching. From those minutes we build each show's curve and the figures for each day and each week.
What each number means
- Average: how many people were watching, on average, while the channel was live.
- Peak: the minute with the most people watching.
- Minutes: how many minutes we measured it live during the week.
The ranking orders channels by their average for the week, Monday to Sunday. If two are level, the one with the higher peak goes first.
What if a minute is missing
Sometimes a platform doesn't answer and that minute has no data. So we count, out of all the times we went to measure, how many times we got the number. That percentage is what we call "with data".
Why there's sometimes no ranking
We only publish a week's ranking if we have data for at least 80% of the minutes and for at least 5 channels. If it falls short, that week isn't published: we'd rather publish nothing than a number that isn't true.
